Pastor CJ Fowler  is a charismatic, influential thought leader, culturalist, and humanitarian. A native of Tampa, Florida, Pastor Fowler was raised under the careful tutelage of his late father, Pastor Willie L. Fowler Jr., and his mother, the late Mother Mae Helen Fowler. He was nurtured in the faith at The New Palm River Church of God in Christ, where he served in various departments and capacities—leading to opportunities at both jurisdictional and national levels. It was within the walls of his home church that Pastor CJ discerned his call to ministry, answered that call, and began developing his spiritual gifts.

 

Professionally, Pastor CJ is a versatile leader with extensive experience in both operational and account management. Known for his analytical insight and ability to solve complex budgetary challenges, he has earned multiple promotions and commendations. He now works in the education sector as both a teacher and Contextual Ministry Director at the very school he once attended as a child.

As a gifted communicator, Pastor CJ’s message of inspiration and hope transcends racial, political, and denominational barriers. Earmarked for his prophetic insight and theological depth, he travels the country informing, inspiring, and impacting lives with the gospel of grace and transformation in Christ.

 

On July 21, 2021, Pastor CJ was appointed Senior Pastor of The New Palm River COGIC. Under his visionary leadership, the church entered a bold season of rebranding and renewal, relaunching in January 2025 as Ignite Church of Tampa—a vibrant, Spirit-filled ministry focused on spiritual alignment, purpose, and impact. In July 2025, the ministry expanded into a multi-campus model with the launch of Ignite Church of Houston, extending Ignite’s vision across state lines.

 

A champion of education, Pastor CJ earned his Master of Arts in Christian Ministries from United Theological Seminary in May 2022. A lifelong learner, he is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry degree at the same institution. As a passionate writer and emerging author, he is preparing to release his debut book, "The Reformers are Here!" in 2025.Pastor CJ is joyfully married to the brilliant Dr. Diamond Charnea Griffith of Houston, Texas. Together, they are the visionaries of Ignite Church of Houston and proud parents of their daughter, Shiloh Amor.
